Who are Symsource? Founded in 2004 by a team of former Symbian colleagues, Symsource brings together the minds behind leading industry mobile platforms such as Symbian OS, WebKit, Flash Lite & J2ME, and offers the ability to build the most compelling, powerful and tightly integrated applications on any mobile device. Well known and well connected within the mobile industry, with device manufacturers, network operators, operating system vendors, retailers and ISVs, Symsource has a reputation for quality and ability that is second to none. What do we do? We can take on all parts of the software development process from identifying and quantifying the mobile opportunity you are considering, through design and feasibility, engineering, testing, release and maintenance. Few other organisations will be by your side from end to end in your mobile projects. Our projects have included mobile VoIP, Instant Messaging, maps and location based services, device management and synchronisation, web 2.0 clients for search, social networking and m-banking, push email, interfaces for SIM cards, Bluetooth devices, NFC and other hardware, video and audio players, 3D graphics and many, many others. Software written by our team has been included in devices from Nokia, SonyEricsson, Motorola as well as network operator value added services and the iPhone AppStore. We offer our services for development of applications for Symbian OS, iPhone, Windows Mobile, Java J2ME and BlackBerry, as well as mobile web applications, widgets and SMS services, and soon Android devices as well. We code in C++, C, Objective-C, Java, JavaScript, PHP and Python. And sometimes Lua. Or Ruby. We can also help with your business case and route to market strategies for taking your existing or startup business into the mobile domain. How do we work? We are transparent in our operations and we will challenge your assumptions, ask you if what you asked for is really what you, or your users, want. As well as giving you full visibility of progress we’ll share with you the problems we encounter along the way, because there will be some, and we won’t pretend there won’t be. When it comes to testing, our team was responsible for defining the Symbian Signed test criteria and we know what users, network operators and device manufacturers demand. Our extranet allows you to connect securely to our defect tracking system, project wiki and source control systems to collaborate with us, and our engineers are available on Skype for adhoc discussion throughout the working day. We work with organisations throughout the world from east to west, and are happy to accommodate your requests for support out of UK business hours. If you have your own backend or client engineering resources, we will work with them to blend seamlessly into one delivery organisation. And if you don’t, then we can do that too. We know that mobile applications are usually part of a much larger system, and we have the skills to build your server based and AJAX web applications too. Provisioning, account management, security, clustering and databases are all part of our portfolio. How can you hire us? Get in touch! Call us on +44 (0) 207 5806800 or email

If you would like us to contact you, simply enter your email address or phone number above and we'll get right back to you. We'll start by making sure we understand what you're really trying to achieve, and are happy to spend some time talking through the various options with you. For a free quotation we need the following kinds of information, but don't worry if you don't have it written down, a phone call or meeting will do. - The platform(s), countries and networks that you wish to target
- If you have thought about the user interface, describe it or provide us with sketches
- If your application will need to connect to a server, describe or provide us with documentation for the server interfaces
- If you need us to port some existing code, how many lines of code is it? How many classes and how many files? How dependent is it on OS specific features?
- And perhaps most importantly, don't forget to describe what your idea is ultimately supposed to do!
